about

The Mad Extras' debut EP "Best New Artist" asks one question above all: what's the point of being a rock and roll band in 2015? Recorded by themselves in a makeshift basement studio, these five songs are about the mess and the dirt and the energy. They're about never-ending house shows and empty beer cans and littered cigarette butts and the ringing in your ears and the sweat from dancing in a crowd of strangers and the joy of making out with your friend at the end of the night and the confusion of waking up on a random couch. They're about having fun because life is short so why not?

The Mad Extras are not trying to be the next big thing, they're just trying to put on a good show. "Best New Artist" isn't about reinventing the wheel, it's about keeping it spinning.

Track Name: Roll Over
Olivia, I'm rooting hard for you tonight
I can see you sweating underneath the lights
I just wanted you to know, you're still the prize in my eyes
It's been a while since you came over it's true
But I never wanted to think that we were through
Hell, everything I learned, I learned from you
That's the honest truth.

Oh, my dear, are we getting too old for this?
I used to be able to make myself cry
My dear, are we getting too old for this?
'Cause I just refuse to roll over and die

Olivia, I'm pushing hard against the grain
I can see you looking 'round inside my brain
I just wanted you to know, though it all changed I still feel the same
It's been awhile
